What we do

Insights you can act on

Many companies already have the data they need. The challenge is usually that it sits in different systems, spreadsheets and exports, and nobody has had the time to bring it together in a way that is easy to use.

Blink Analytics works across that whole chain: pulling data out of source systems, modelling and structuring it in a proper data platform, and building the reports and dashboards people open every week to make decisions.

Structured

Data that is modelled and documented properly, so your team can build on it instead of maintaining another spreadsheet.

Automated

Reports that refresh on a schedule, without anyone manually exporting or copying data between files.

Actionable

We design dashboards around the decision they're meant to support, then work back from there to the data.

Services

Where we get involved

These six areas cover the work from raw data to finished reporting. You can bring us in for one of them, or for the whole chain.

01

Business Intelligence & Power BI

We design and build Power BI dashboards and reports that give decision-makers a clear, current view of the business, with numbers people actually trust.

02

Data Engineering & ETL

We build the ETL pipelines and data models that turn raw data from your source systems into something reliable enough to report on.

03

Data Platforms & Cloud Analytics

We design and set up cloud data platforms, on stacks like Microsoft Fabric or Azure, including the integrations that connect them to the systems you already use.

04

Reporting Automation

We take recurring manual reports, the kind rebuilt in a spreadsheet every week or month, and turn them into workflows that update on their own.

05

BI Strategy & Architecture

Before any dashboard gets built, we help work out how data should flow through the organisation, who owns each part of it, and which KPIs actually matter. That groundwork is what keeps reporting consistent as the company grows.

06

AI-Enabled Analytics & Automation

Where it genuinely helps, we use AI to summarise reports, speed up routine analysis, or let people ask questions directly against your data. We only bring it in where it does a better job than a normal dashboard would.

Examples of our work

A few examples of the kind of engagements we take on. Details are anonymised, but the work is real.

Case 01

Modernising a legacy BI environment

From Qlik Sense to a modern Microsoft BI platform

Migrated a legacy Qlik Sense reporting environment to Power BI and rebuilt the underlying data platform using Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory.

The work included integrating new data sources across Finance, Workforce Management, HR and Operations, while creating a common data model that supported reporting across the organisation.

The solution also included lightweight master data tooling so that the people responsible for each business area could maintain mappings and supporting data themselves without relying on BI for every small change.

Key areas

  • Qlik Sense to Power BI migration
  • Azure SQL data warehouse
  • Azure Data Factory ETL
  • Finance, HR, WFM and Operations integrations
  • Master data maintenance tooling

Case 02

Stabilising an unreliable ETL environment

Turning an unstable data pipeline into something maintainable

A client had an existing reporting environment where ETL pipelines were regularly failing. Documentation had been lost, ownership was unclear and it was difficult to understand how data moved through the solution.

The work started by mapping the existing architecture, dependencies and failure points. The ETL processes were then restructured and simplified, with improved error handling and documentation.

The result was a cleaner and more predictable data flow and an environment that could be supported and developed further without repeatedly reverse-engineering the existing solution.

Key areas

  • ETL architecture review
  • Mapping undocumented data flows
  • Root-cause analysis
  • Pipeline restructuring
  • Monitoring and error handling
  • Technical documentation

Case 03

Building a reporting foundation

Finding useful data before building the reporting

Worked with a smaller company that had operational and financial data available in its CRM and other systems but no structured reporting environment.

The engagement started by understanding how the business worked, what decisions people needed to make and what information would actually be useful.

The available systems and data were then explored to identify useful sources, potential KPIs and how different datasets could be combined. The reporting structure was designed around business needs rather than simply visualising the data that happened to be available.

Key areas

  • Business requirements workshops
  • CRM and source-system exploration
  • KPI definition
  • Data quality assessment
  • Operations and Finance reporting
  • Translation of business needs into technical requirements

How we work

What that looks like day to day

Senior people, start to finish

You work with the same senior consultant from the first workshop through to final delivery. There's no hand-off to a team you've never met.

Business first, tooling second

We start from the decisions you need to make, then choose the simplest technology that gets you there.

Built to be maintained

We document our logic and keep data models clean, so your own team can maintain and extend the work once we're done.

Pragmatic delivery

We aim to have a working dashboard or pipeline in front of you within a few weeks, before sinking time into long planning documents.

About

An independent BI consultancy based in Sweden.

Blink Analytics is an independent BI and analytics consultancy founded by Alexander Petersson.

I have worked with Business Intelligence across both consulting and internal BI organisations, building reporting environments that support Finance, HR, Operations, Workforce Management and other business functions.

My work spans the full BI lifecycle, from understanding requirements and exploring source systems to data engineering, modelling, automation and finished Power BI reporting.

I started Blink Analytics to offer companies practical BI support without adding unnecessary complexity. The goal is to build solutions that work technically, make sense to the business and can be maintained after delivery.
